Excessive Hair Fall, Eating Healthy. Am I Vitamin Deficient? How To Control?

I m 23, female, asian with long hair. I use a hair straightener at least 5-6 times a week for three years, but haven t used it nearly as often (maybe 4 times a month) in the past year or half a year. I ve had it straight permed twice, once in 2010 and once this past february. Besides that and the shampoo/conditioner I use, I haven t done anything else to my hair, but it s thinning like crazy. I noticed the thinness about 5 years ago. My hair used to be very very thick, but now its thin and lacks life. My diet is what I consider to be healthy, full of fruits and veg, carbs, fish, soy, but little to no meat and dairy, aside from eggs . When I comb my fingers through my hair, I can grab almost 10 strands of hair. When I brush my hair, my brush looks as if it s been brushing hair for a week. Its making me self-conscious because I play with my hair a lot and thus, I shed a lot. My hair is usually down, sometimes its up, but it s never pulled tight, always loose. What could I be doing wrong, or am I just vitamin deficient or missing some vital minerals?

Thanks for posting your query on healthcare magic
It is normal to lose between 50-100 hairs a day, this is part of the hair renewal process as a phase of hair cyle . However most people suffer from excessive hair loss at one time in their life. There are many reasons for this including medication, radiation, chemotherapy, exposure to chemicals, hormonal and nutritional factors, thyroid disease, generalized or local skin disease, and stress.
Hair straightening with chemicals or heating damage the hair extensively .Since you have stopped the process now . ill recommend donot use any more chemicals or heating on your hair .

Also if the loss is extensive and excess thinning has occured which is showing your scalp at places in between the strands of hair then it may be Female pattern alopecia for which you need to see any Plastic surgeon/ dermatologist/trichologist to confirm the diagnosis .
Also you may require hormonal assay to rule out hormonal imbalance .

Only drug currently US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)–approved indications for treatment of androgenetic alopecia for females is : topical application of minoxidil (2% or 5 % strength) .
But before taking this you should consult a doctor specializing in hair problems to confirm diagnosis .

Also you may add antidandruff shampoo if you face the dandruff problem.
You may use parachute advanced scalp care therapy twice a week and wash it off in morning with X gain shampoo( twice a week only )
Take plenty of fish , green leafy vegetables , fruits and loads of water .
I hope i have answered to most of your queries
If you have any more doubts feel free to post again
