Hi,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic,

You are recently detected to be suffering from Diabetes type II, you are taking Metformin for last 4 days, your symptoms of sweating and dizziness may be due to its excessive therapeutic effect that is low blood sugar (Hypoglycemia), or the side effect of drug such as vomiting and diarrhea.

You must check your blood sugar level at the time when symptoms are there if reading is low than dose of Metformin may be reduced.

Please discuss with treating Physician about the reduction in dose and if it is not tolerated at all there are many alternatives are available.

You should take care of diet and exercise.
Hope this helps.

Take care.
Good Luck.

Hello,
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, dizziness are side effects of metformin and is dose dependent. You can avoid these symptoms by starting with less dose like 250 mg twice daily and then gradually increasing the dose. This way your body shall adjust to the drug gradually.
You should also keep a note of your blood sugar levels also because hypoglycemia can also cause sweating and lightheadedness.
If you find that your blood sugar levels are low,you may still decrease the dose of glipizide.Normally METFORMIN doesn't cause any hypoglycemia.
Thanks
