Excruciating Ear Pain, Pain In Temple And Stiff Neck. Take Zyrtec-D For Other Allergies. Caffeine Part Of The Problem?

Hi, can you please tell me what the cause of these symptoms could be (excruciating left outer ear pain, pain in left temple, stiff neck, pain on back of left ear on skull, muscle tension on my jaw near my ear), seems to start when it is windy. Also, I sit at my desk all day and rarely get up (which I know I should). The pain comes on at any moment, sometimes lasting most of the day (even with 2-6 ibuprofens). Heat applied to the area seems to relieve some pain. Sometimes popping my neck helps. I typically use ear plugs when showering. This became worse and started again after working at an office (not sure if I may be allergic to something here?) But I do take Zyrtec-D for other allergies. Also, someone mentioned caffeine might be part of the problem?

I read your query regarding excruciating ear pain, pain in temple and stiffness in neck. you have pain in neck and tension in jaw.

All these symptoms are in favour of mastoiditis with intracranial and extracranial complications. you are advice for these investigations-

(a) C.T.scan of temporal ( HRCT ).

(b) CSF examination.

(c) X-Ray neck.

Beside this good clinical examination is necessary along with co-relation of inferences of investigations to finalize the diagnosis that may be accordingly plan for treatment.
