Experienced Extreme Memory, Weight Loss, Put On Arocept, MRI Shows Small Subcortical, Deep White Matter Lesions. Does Smoking Further Complicate This Problem?

My wife experienced extreme memory loss , extreme weight loss etc. She was placed in a crisis management area of a local hospital for 4 days. She saw a neurologist 2 weeks after release. He appointment went extremely well. They put her on Arocept after her release and she is basically back to normal with weight gain etc. Her MRI came back and the only thing that stood out was that Seen best on T2 FLAIR images, there are a few small subcortical and deep white matter lesions. These are most consistent with microvascular ischemic changes.) My question is, does smoking further complicate this problem? Thank you, Jim Lundgard (502) 895-1386 Home (502) 468-9725 Cell

greetings,

so thats a good sign that your wife is improving on the prescribed medication.
regarding smoking......
smoking is definitely harmful.
one it increases the risk for cardio vascular events which can further complicate the case.
so its better if you can slowly cut it down the smoking habbit.
