Experiencing A Rushing Or Pulsing Sound In My Right Ear. Underlying Cause?

For six months I have been experiencing a rushing or pulsing sound in my right ear. I mostly only experience it when I am laying down to sleep at night. I do not notice it every night, but it does bother me most nights. I also sometimes have mild pain and tightness behind my right ear that can spread a little down my neck and to the back of my head. Six months ago, when this started, I also had some swollen and painful lymph nodes behind my ear. Those came and went for about 2 months. I saw a doctor who just did blood tests and said everything looked fine.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pulsing sounds in right ear which could be due to pulsating tinnitus which effect local blood flow. It could be due to sinusitis as well. I would suggest you to put antibiotic ear drops in ear on daily basis on experts advice. You should take nasal sprays. You should take proper course of antibiotic . Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should get audimetery testing done and go for otoscopic examination of ear. Start treatment after proper prescription. Avoid touching it with any sharp object.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
