Hi I have been experiencing chest pains for months actually but lately they have been really bad. Today it is very sharp and tearing like in the middle of my chest. It feels better when I bend forward but after I do that for awhile and sit up it s extremely painful. I don t know if it s normal to experience this often but today it really worried me because how bad it felt.

Hello dear,

Chest pain can be caused by various reasons, including minor problem such as indigestion or stress, to serious medical emergencies such as a heart attack.

Investigations like an Electrocardiogram & X ray of chest will be helpful in ruling out any pathology in the heart & lungs.

Other causes of chest pain include:
1. Strained chest muscles due to overuse
2. Chest muscle injury
3. Short-term, sudden anxiety with rapid breathing
4. Peptic ulcer disease
5. Pain from the digestive tract, such as esophageal reflux

So, it will be better to consult a Doctor & get a physical examination done to rule out other causes. So that proper management steps could be taken.

Wishing you a Good Health.
Take care.
