Experiencing Headache And Vision Problem While Looking From Both Eyes. Suggest

My name is Praveen & i am 22, from the last 1 month i am experiencing headache while working in office or while studying or in a place where there is too much light. So i went to an eye specialist and checked my eye power it was -1.5 in Right eye and -.25 in right eye , But i am not experiencing vision Problem while looking from both eyes. But i feels that when i Closes my right eye. what should i do should i do. should i go for Lens or Sprecs

Hi Praveen,

Thanks for your question. It appears you have a refractive difference between the two eyes which may be contributing to eye strain and your headache.

From the "eye power" prescription you have given you are myopic (short-sighted) in both eyes. However, your right eye is more myopic (more minus) than your left. It is unusual for this to cause problems with near work but may be a problem for distance.

When one eye is weaker than the other eye your brain can often learn to ignore it as it is not providing a focused image compared to your other eye. This might be why you feel that your right eye "closes".

In the first instance you should go to an optician and get new spectacles made which are correct for your eye power to see if these help with the headache/eye strain. You could consider contact lenses in the future but these can take some getting used to.
