Experiencing Irregular Periods Every 14 Days, No Heavy Bleeding. Using IUD As Contraception. Do I Have A Problem?
Hello, I am 37 years old and have been experiencing irregular periods for a few months. I seem to get my period every 14 days. Then after a break through bleeding which is not heavy but noticeable each time I wipe myself. Therefore it appears I am always bleeding. For contraception I use the IUD , this was inserted two years ago and I have never had a problem with it. Would appreciate your advice Thanks
I understand your concern. It is not normal for you to have menstrual bleeding every 14 days. This is a too short interval, so my suggestion is to visit your gynecologist as soon as you can. This problem could be connected with IUD. Maybe you have copper IUD which may increase menstrual bleeding or cramps. Women may also experience spotting between periods. Maybe you have harder bleeding/spotting between your periods. The hormonal IUD may reduce menstrual cramps and bleeding, and maybe you should get this one.
I hope you will listen to my advice and visit your gynecologist as soon as you can.
