Experiencing Low Grade Fever, back Pain & Blood Clots During Period
I have been passing several large clots today with my period (which started this morning). Low grade fever and lower back pain which may be from the UTI -possible kidney infection- I was diagnosed with over the weekend. I am currently on an antibiotic to treat the UTI as well. But these clots, most of them have been larger than my fist, all larger than a quarter. Some, it feels like I have to use the bathroom but then they pass easily and I feel a throbbing... this can't be normal. I dont have a family dr and uncertain if I should go to a walk in because would a dr there be able to help me? I feel silly asking.
If you are having heavy bleeding with passage of big clots than you need to consult doctor for examination. You will need injection tranexamic acid 1 gm IV to be taken to arrest bleeding. And also Tab Primolut N 5 mg three times a day for 7 days followed by 5 mg twice a day for 14 days. Later you can get ultrasound of pelvis done to see for any abnormality in uterus or ovaries.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
