Experiencing Pain When She Lays Flat And Have Difficulty In Breathing

my wife can't lay down, she can inhale but hurts to exhale, we have both had cold and coughed alot and our ribs are sore but she is in a lot of pain when she lays flat and has a hard time breathing and getting strong pains yelling in discomfort and yes she is a smoker
