Experiencing Swelling, Dryness And Irritation In Nipple After An Injury. Can It Be Due To The Cold Weather?
Hi, I'm 22, I'm a hockey player, and I was skating and got hit and slid on the ice and I scraped my left nipple. A day or two later or so, in the shower I noticed it was dry and cracked. Along with swollen and irritated. I didn't think anything about it at the time (of course, since I had just irritated the hec out of it), but now its been almost a month later, and it hasn't changed. I don't know if it is just the combination of the weather changes (I'm in New England so its getting pretty cold here now) and the incident? Or if my body can still be traumatized and healing from the incident? Just curious.
Hi, After reading your query I can make out that you are suffering form Chaffed nipples.
It is quite common in athletes and hockey player who gets exposed to sweating and friction.
For the betterment you can follow the suggestions. Apply a waterproof adhesive bandage, or surgical tape over each nipple before exercise to act as a barrier between skin and cloth. Wear shirts made of synthetic fabrics instead of cotton. Apply an anti-chafing balm or petroleum jelly prior to exercise. Avoid the use of large, loose-fitting T-shirt during exercise.
Take care.
