Extreme Anxiety And Depression After Getting Cured Of A Bout
Hi. I have been suffering extreme anxiety and depression (diurnal mood variation, melancholic) for close to 4 years, after successfully curing a bout back in 2003. I have been using clonazepam .25-.5mg from 2003 to 2011. In the past 4 years due to increased anxiety following bad and suicidal morning thoughts, I have increased to about 1.5 mg a day, and started using propanarolol 10mg to help with anxiety tremors. Tremors last through half the day. Taking Seroquel 100mg at night and Pritiq 100 mg as well, but not getting results. Condition not improving and makes it very difficult to get through the day, evenings are better usually starting around 6. Also just stopped drinking alcohol 1-3 drinks on a daily basis for many years. What is your prognosis of my situation. Could use help. thank you.
I think, you are a chronic case of depression and need continuous treatment for rest of your life. I would suggest, venlafaxine instead of des-venlafaxine in your case. You can carry on with seroquel and with that try to decrease clonazepam. In case, your suicidal thoughts do not control with venlafaxine, you can try paroxetine or sertraline.
Thanks
