Eye Swelling, Swollen Sclera And Eyelids, Vision Fine, BP Under Control With Medicines. Suggestions?
Dear Sir, My mom left eye got swelling . Internally white color area got swelled and become like jelly and even eyelids also swelled.. This was happened within span of 10-15 min. Her vision is fine.. She is having high Blood Pressure constantly around 160/100 - 180/100. So just day before yesterday we consulted MD(general Medicine), so with his medications yesterday BP came to normal.. Please suggest me....
Hi.. Is there any redness or discharge in the eyes.. If yes it could be a conjunctivitis.. On What medications is she for BP? It could be an idiopathic inflammatory reaction also... she can do some warm compresses can use some anti inflammatory eye drops. Better to see the doctor if it not coming down or getting worse... Take care..
lid swelling associated with a jelly like swelling of the white area of eye (medically called as chemosis)is superficial swelling of conjunctiva.
as it is localised to left eye it is probably not releted to her blood pressure.
following possibilities need to be ruled out 1 .insect bite 2 infection of lid .also get her blood suger levels 3. infection of conjunctiva i.e.conjunctivitis
you should start a ciprofloxacin eye drops four times a day and tablet cetrizine twice a day
good luck
