Fainted When Dancing For Long Time. Prescribed Livopill. Without Medicine, Unable To Sleep. Continue Medicine?

My son got fainted in january after dancing for long time.He got revived after two to three minutes.We consulted a neurologist.He prescribed livipill 500 twice a day.Since that time he is all right and had no problem.But sometimes if he does not take medicine he is not able to sleep.Should he continue medicine or change it.Please suggest how long should he take medicine

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

Your son had a seizure episode and was put on levipil 500 (Levetiracetam). This medication is an anticonvulsant, prescribed for partial seizures. It works by reducing the activity in the brain. It can be used alone or with other antiepileptic medications.
You should not discontinue or change dosage of this medication without asking doctor.
