Fatigue, Dark Eyes And Tinnitus. Do I Have Hashimoto's Disease? Can I Take Iodoral?
How do I know if I have Hashimoto s Thyroiditis , or something similar with only basic lab tests run. I have extreme fatigue , dark eyes, tinnitis, and many other symptoms. I have quit eating gluten . Can I supplement with iodoral? I have no insurance. I am in Tampa, Fl. I have tsh levels if necessary. noone yet has dug deep enough to find a diagnosis...without insurance.
Hi, 1. Two tests needed to make a diagnosis of Hashimotos hypothyroidism are serum TSH and Anti thyroid peroxidase antibody. Additional tests like Ultrasound of neck and T3, T4 will help if you can afford it.
2. Iodine rich diet or Iodaral is not a treatment for Hashimotos hypothyroidism, it is used for Iodine deficiency hypothyroidism (Another cause of hypothyroidism) Hashimotos hypothyroidism is treated with thyroxine hormone replacements
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
