I literally cannot drink enough. It also makes me wee consistently ( I woke up to have a wee 8 times during last night ) what could this be ? Cat

Hello,
Diabetes mellitus causes increased thirst, increased urination, increased appetite and loss of weight. Not all the symptoms are present in every diabetic.
Similarly increased thirst and incresed urination can be caused in diabetes insipidus.
You must consult a doctor and get yourself tested for blood sugar fasting and PP done.
Blood sugar ( fasting ) values above 126 and PP values above 200 are suggestive of diabetes mellitus.
In case blood sugar levels are found to be normal, you should be investigated for diabetes insipidus by getting the relevant test for it like DESMOPRESIN test.
Treatment would depend upon the cause found.
Thanks

General & Family Physician Dr. Het Ram Bishnoi 's  Response
Hi, Thanks for the query to HCM.
Frequent passing of urine breeds excessive thirst , so these two things are related to each other.
Main problem is frequency of urine ?
Reasons are
1. Anxiety neurosis ( particularly in your case if there is no family H/O diabetes).
2. Diabetes ( type 1 or type 2)
There is tendency that if some one have tension , stress, strain and worry , he or she will have to pass urine many times.
Get in blood examination for C B C and sugar level. Urine examination for sugar ( complete).
If there is no any disease in above examination than try to rethink that what is wrong with you ( not disease).
Good luck.
