Feeling Dizzy While Getting Up And Laying Down. Had Ear Infection Month Ago

When I lay down at night I get really dizzy for a few minutes (probably seconds) but it seems like forever. Each time I turn over in the bed this happens. When I get out of bed it happens. I can go about my daily routine and may experience dizzy once in a while if I bend over and/or move too fast. I had a very light ear infection about a month ago. It has cleared up.

Welcome to HCM.
It seems to be symptoms of vertigo.
It usually occurs due to some changes in the vestibuler system of the ear.
It usually occurs after ear infection, exposure to excessive noise, during climbing mountains, during travel by air.
You have to take betahistdine 8mg. three times a day.
Otherwise take care during get up,move your body on a side than get up slowly.
Consult your doctor for further guidance and medical management.

Pediatrician Dr. Y V Siva Sankara Murty's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

Damage to the inner ear when you had that ear infection could be one of the cause for the dizziness that you are having. Various other causes include labrinthitis, anemia, low blood pressure, abnormal circulation to the brain etc.

Please contact a ENT specialist for proper diagnosis and further management.

Continue to ask further queries.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
