Feeling Heaviness In The Head, Fatigue. What Is Happening?
Three times I have experienced a very quick onset of my head feeling like it weighed 50 pounds and I could not sit up..had to put my head down to keep from passing out...happened right after I ate twice...i became instantly tired and could not hardly keep my eyes open...felt like I had to fight to stay alert and awake...after about 15 minutes it edged off and I could think felt normal with the exception I was incredibly tired...I am 54 years old and active...still work 50 hours a week and chase grandkids around on a daily basis...When this happened the first time is was about 6-7 months again...2nd time 6-8 weeks ago and again today...I have to completely stop what I am doing and sit or lay down...One time I fell sideways and did not feel like I was able to lift myself up. Symptoms seem to pass fairly quickly but seem to be happening more...thanks for you help! Terri
Thank for your query Terri.
Transient attacks of this nature are typically caused by either a nerve reflex from irritation to the vagal nerve, that supplies the heart, stomach and lower oesophagus or from a circulatory problem to the brain, often related to your blood pressure. The association to eating will suggest the former I.e. reflux esophagitis . As this may cause you to faint, which will cause havoc when driving or from falling, I suggest you see this in a serious light and consult a doctor, to prevent this from happening. Kind regards.
