Feeling Lightheaded, Nausea And Difficulty In Walking Straight. Vertigo? Have Cardiac Problems

Age 75….Was diagnosed July 2012 with Vertigo. Had 4 episods which lasted
approx l ½ days . The last being Oct. 5. 2012. On Mar15/13 I had a Veritgo
episode the symptoms of which have been going on for 9 days. I saw an
Otolaryngilist Mar 21./13 but at he time he didn’t think it was Vertigo. The
walk-in-clinic doctor did not agree nor did the doctor in Emerge. What
should l do, my GP doctor is away until Apr,7/13?

Symptoms…At the beginning of the Vertigo episode l was dizzy for about
15 minutes. Since then (9 days) l have been light headed and have difficulty
walking a straight line. Headaches but little nausea. I have major cardiac
issues but this doesn’t feel like d heart problem?

What should l do, my GP doctor is away until Apr.7/13? Would
Appreciate your input…… Mississauga, Ontario Canada

Hi,
It seems that you might have vertigo problem.
At this age Cerebro- vascular insufficiency can give rise to this problem as well.
Go to ER as this requires evaluation.
You may take tablet like Vertin or Stugeron forte after consulting your doctor.
Do not stand up quickly while standing up.
Avoid using pillow.
Ok and take care.
