Feeling Nauseous, Constant Headaches, Discomfort In Abdomen For 3 Weeks. Negative Pregnancy Tests. Suggestions?

I have been feeling nauseous, faint, having constant headaches and discomfort in my abdomen area for 3 weeks. I take Advil for the headaches, but it doesn't help. I thought I was pregnant, but I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. A friend told me that it could be the onset of menopause, but I don't think so. I am 41 years old.

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Nausea, faintness, headache, discomfort , no relief with advil .
Pregnancy test negative .
These symptoms may be due to,
1 Hyper acidity as this causes , nausea, headache, abdominal discomfort , dizziness . Reason of hyper acidity may be overeating, junk food , tension .
Since all these symptoms present from last 3 weeks , so diagnosis can be confirmed by upper G I endoscopy .
Consult a physician and take treatment .
2 Since your age is 41 years and menses may be regular ,but at this age certain hormones starts decreasing . This is not menopause but PERIMENOPAUSE starts at this age . Perimenopause refers to the time period preceding menopause when fertility wanes & menstrual cycle irregularity increase, until the first year after cessation of menses.
Gynecologist will confirm the diagnosis.
F S H and L H hormones , estrogen play an important role so get in examination.
3 High blood pressure may cause these symptoms , diagnosis can be confirmed by physical examination by a physician.
So in my opinion first consult a gynecologist for perimenopause.
Good luck. Dr. Het
