Feeling Of Taste Of Blood In Throat And Sinus. What Kind Of Treatment Will Help?

I had some kind of bad sickness about 2 months ago and every since, every time I blow my nose or sniffle a little too hard I taste blood in my sinuses and throat (I don't smell it, just taste). I'm not sure what it is or could be. It never happened before I got sick but now it's an every day thing. I'm not sure if I should worry or if I can get rid of it with some kind of simple fix. Help?

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about what you are experiencing. Blood vessels in the nose are very superficial and fragile that they can easily bleed with the minimal aggression. Sniffling hard at times can cause minor bleeds from them. if this happens in the posterior aspect of the nose, it will trickle down the back of the throat and could be responsible for this feeling. If it were to happen on the anterior area, you may have noticed a nose bleed rather.

I will suggest that you get the cause of these sniffles addressed. This will prevent you from sniffling all the times and also help prevent provoking bleeds. Try to sniffle gently and see whether there is any significant change. You don't really need to see a doctor right away but if these measures don't help, then please get examined.

I hope you find this helpful and it addresses your query fully. Thank you so much for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be. I wish you the best of health.
