Hello,

You did not mention exactly how your symptoms present like having vaginal discharge (describe color, quantity, frequency, smell? etc), if itching (which areas?), and if you present with any other symptoms like painful penetration.
Vaginal infection usually presents with discharge that could be foul smelling or not, abundant or not, with a characteristic color ranging from white, yellow, brown, coffee-ground etc, burning/pain vaginal sensation and presence of itchiness around the vulva. Now the infection could be due to bacteria like E. coli, gonorrhea etc or fungi like Candida albicans. STI due to chlamydia, trichomonas vaginalis, syphilis could also manifest with same symptoms.
But the only way to determine if you have actual vaginal infection is by seeing a doctor (since you are embarrassed discussing you may choose a female doctor) who can do a vaginal smear to determine which causative microbe is responsible and giving you appropriate treatment. Your drugs could be require prescription, so i suggest you get consulted.
Remember that complications could develop in the long term notably miscarriages if this left untreated.

hope this helps
