Feelings Of Panic, Anxiety, Insomnia, Rape Victim. Do I Need A Psychiatric Evaluation?

I am wondering if I need to go to the emergency room for a psych eval? I was raped 5 years ago and never sought treatment. I now am having constant feelings of panic and anxiety , and I have insomnia due to flashbacks. I haven t slept for 3 days. I have no insurance. Do I need to go to the emergency room to get further help?

I am sorry that you have a distressing past history. But past is past.

You should get a psychiatrist evaluation done, not on an emergency basis but as an outpatient at the Psychiatrist’s office.

You definitely need help and I appreciate your efforts in getting help.

You should take right treatment and move on in life.

hi why you have panic after 5 years of that incidence as no complication occurs after 5 years of it except your thinking process.. This situation created by your mind .you have flashbackes in your mind but just try to avoid it by doing other activity.if you remain busy with activity you should not have any anxiety or tension.just forget it as a bad dream & concentrate on future.just share your ideas with your friends.OK have a nice sleep
