Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Monocytosis i.e. elevated level of monocyte found in many disease but in your case may be due to ,
1 Early stage of leukemias as there is lymphopenia , low platelets and fever .
For this you have to wait for next 5-7 days and regular blood examination during this period is necessary.
2 Tuberculosis is another reason of monocytosis . Diagnosis can be confirmed by E S R ( if more then 40 mm ) and physical and clinical history of patient with family history.
3 Subacute bacterial endocarditis is the another reason , since this is a very early stage so you have to wait for next couple of days.
In my opinion it is too early to evaluate any diagnosis , so get in blood examination regularly for next 10 days.
As reason of monocytosis are so many as , brucellosis, sarcoidosis, regional enteritis.
Good luck. Dr. HET
