Fever, Mucus In Lung. Taken Antibiotics. Tests Normal. Need Help
Dear Doctors My sister is 15 years old. She has fever and mucus in lung since two years She has taken many antibiotics , inhalers etc but couldn’t got relief She has been checked by many doctors (include chest specialist) tests like blood, chest, mucus, x ray, urine, Ct. Scene etc have also been done but situation is still same she is not getting recovered from all that. I will be thankful if you kindly suggest me any advice With best regards Owais Salam Karachi-Pakistan
Difficult situation I guess. Fever with mucous in a young girl for 2 years. It will be helpful if you could put it down the CT report. Is the mucous very thick which is difficult to clear. She may have certain genetic related condition and may require genes study at a higher center institute like Aga khan etc. She need regular physiotherapy to help clear the mucous. She may also require something called bronchoscopy which is like endoscopy where the doctor puts a tube with camera through nose or mouth inside the lung and wash the lung to test for unusual infections. She may need prolonged course of antibiotics through the veins. if you could communicate further with more information may be i could narrow down the possible problem.
