Fever, Nausea And Swollen Jaw. Had Removed Wisdom Tooth. Need To Get Checked?
My son had his wisdom teeth out 3 1/2 weeks ago. All was fine at the post-op follow up on Wed last week. He played in a handball tournament this weekend. Now his right side of jaw is swollen again and is painful. Ice and Advil are helping.
He also has a fever and nausea, but I think he may have got the flu from one of his team mates.
Just wondering if I should take him to doctor or ride it out.
Your son had a tooth extraction. Following which he has pain, swelling at the site of extraction and it is associated with fever. It is unlikely to be flu because he has swelling and pain in the extraction site. May be that the wound may not have healed inside or hematoma(collection of blood) may have formed or abscess may have formed. Revisit the dentrist.
