Fever, Nausea, Pain In Abdomen While Coughig With GGT Of 44ul. What Could Be Wrong?
Hello, I am a 23y old female. For the past 3 weeks I have been suffering from fever ,nausea, fatigue, chills. Whenever I cough I felt a pain in my right side of abdomen. My cough has been very violent but now a bit better since I started taking and anti allergic yesterday. However when I showed to my gp yesterday, he wrote a couple of tests which included GGT.. rest of them seem ok with the exception of GGT. It is 44ul. What do you think is happening. Please help.
Dear Friend Fever with nausea , fatigue, chills can be due to some infection like Malaria , Urinary tract infection, Hepatitis. Since you have pain in Right Side abdomen, it is indicative of liver or gall bladder disease (esp if in right upper abdomen known as right hypochondrium)
You have not told us your all investigations. I advise you for Ultrasound Abdomen to see for Cholecystitis (That is inflammation of Gall Bladder) GGT is elevated in liver problems only, and if you consume alcohol, it usually increases. Tell us in your other Liver Function Tests like Bilirubin, SGPT, SGOT.
Hope you get well soon
