Feverish, Joint Pain, Sore Throat. Had Sex With Stranger, Tested Negative For Dna Pcr, Tested Earlier. Cause Of Symptoms?

I had unprotected vaginal sex with lady unknown on 27 jun 2013 .i had flu l.ike symtom exactly on 10 july i had tested for dna pcr (not viral load) on 11 july which came negative.but the lab person told me that test needs to be taken on 28th day. Flu like feverish joint pain was there for a day but sore throat and white mouthstarted from date what are my chances of hiv.secondly will my negative pcr come back positive..what are these symtoms related to?

If the lady you had sex with is positive for HIV,

then am afraid there is a greater risk of you contracting

the virus.

I agree with the lab tech that you should re do the pcr at

a later date precisely 4 to 6 weeks later.

And for the sore throat, it is likely to be another infection

and less likely to be a complication of HIV.
