Filling For Rear Molar Done, Bad Smell On Pressing The Gum, Recently Had Heart Palpitations. Is It Related?
I have been back to dentist since she fiilled a rear molar as i have a rotten taste in my mouth and when i press the gum i get a bad smell on my finger tip. I was told that it was nothing so Brush the area well at least twice a day. I have recently been suffering heart palpitations and wondered if there was a possible link? I intend returning to my dentist to insist on a more thorough check up as it is not normal to have such a bad smell or taste in my mouth only a few hours after brushing.

have you got checked for any other decayed tooth in your mouth other than the filled tooth?
if present,get it filled.
i advice you to get the professional cleaning done.
the medication taken by you can cause bad smell as well as gingivititis in your mouth.
i advice you to use dental floss in your interdental areas as it will prevent food lodgement.
pateints with diabetic or cardiac or thyroid problem are more prone for poor oral hygiene maintenance and gingivitis.
visit your dentist in every 6 months and get a routine check up done.
have you got checked for any other decayed tooth in your mouth other than the filled tooth?

Rotten taste and bad smell can be due to decayed tooth or gum disease.
If there is any decayed tooth then filling should be done and if its due to gum disease then go for scaling and polishing.
Maintain oral hygiene and use antiseptic mouthwash twice daily.
Do warm salines for some days.

your gum seems to be infected and foul smell can be due to pus formation... you should go for proper scaling, root planing, curettage and irrigation with antiseptic solution in the affected area...
if your filling is extending up to the interdental areas, there are more chances of food lodgement... in that case, clean the area properly and visit your dentist again to check out if the filling done is okay in interdental area...
and your heart palpitations doesn't seems to be related to dental problems... you should seek general physicians advice for that...
