Flu Like Symptoms. Have Iron Deficiency. Difficulty In Concentration, Heaviness In Head. Advice?

I have hay fever flu type symptoms also I feel like I haven't enough oxygen in my body , I have had iron deficiency before but this is like I am sniffing all the time my head feels thick and I can't think or concentrate my eyes run tears but I don't have a cold I have tried hay fever remedies and nothing, I had yuppie flu over 20 years ago could this be a mild bout of that I feel awful

Hello dear,

The symptoms as mentioned in your post suggest that you might be having allergic rhinitis.

1. Antihistamine preparations like Allegra can be taken for symptomatic relief.
2. Montelukast preparations- used as a maintenance therapy to relieve symptoms of seasonal allergies.
3. Maintain adequate hydration & take a healthy balance diet.
4. Protect yourself from exposure to cold, dust or other allergens.


If symptoms still persist, it will be better to consult a Pulmonologist & get a proper physical examination done.
Investigation like X ray of the paranasal sinus will be helpful.

A complete blood count will help in estimating your hemoglobin levels. Iron supplements can be taken if Iron deficiency anemia is detected.
