Fluctuating Bp. Olmetec Taken. Advise?

Hi. From last few days I had headache. I got checked. I had b.p. 160/100. When I came back to home it was 135/95. I again went to hospital got checked. It was 140/97. I started medicine olmetec plus 20/12.5 mg. doctor said it will show effect after one week. Is it right. I took one tablet and now after 5 hours my b.p. is 110/75. Should I continue medicine or go for other opinion.

Dear Sir
Thanks for writing to us.
There are a few basic things. 1. the diagnosis of blood pressure should rest on multiple readings rather than one reading over a period of time or you have one high reading of >180/110 mmHg with evidence of end organ failure. 2. our BP continuously changes depending upon our mental.physical activity/ stress. 3. yes it takes sometime for drugs to act somewhere between 10 -20 days.
If your doctor has started the medicine, i hope he had sufficient evidence that you have high BP. i hope he also got your hypertension work up to look for any end organ damage.
Hope it gives you some insight in your problem.
Sincerely
sukhvinder singh
