Follicles Had Not Ruptured . What Does This Mean?

Hi, I had an ultrasound done yesterday 4/17. There was just one 20mm follicle. They gave me my Ovidril shot at 4pm yesterday. Today at 12:30pm ( only 20 hrs post ovidril ) I had my IUI done. Today on ultrasound my follicle had still not ruptured. What does this mean ? Was it too early for the IUI since the follicle had not yet ruptured ? Will the washed sperm die before the follicle has a chance to rupture ? What are the chances that the follicle may not even rupture ? I m scared the IUI wasn t timed properly as the egg hasn t even been released yet there are sperm waiting that may die at any moment :((

Hi,

1) This could be due to defect of hcg injections.
2) Try changing to different hCG trigger injections.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Soumya, OBGYN
