Foot And Ankle Twisted, No Fracture But Not Sure About The Ligament. Pain Unbearable. Worried
I fell off a ladder on 4-12-13 and my foot & ankle twisted. The EMS took me to the ER and they say nothing is broken but,not sure about the ligaments.Pain level is an 8,can't move my toes, burning, can't bare weight,etc... They gave me 5 Mobic pills and no relief at all.Should I go to another ER for another exam? Pain is awful. Please help. Thanks
Were there an X-ray done? This is the only way to tell if there is any fracture or not.
Most likely (if the fracture is ruled out) you have sprained your ankle, and ligaments may be injured indeed. In such situation your food should be immobilized with splint. After 7 days another X-ray should be done (to make sure no fractures at all) and depending of the pain level, sprain should be there for next 3 weeks. You should consult orthopedist.
Hope this will help.
Regards.
