While opening the door to my garage (heavy metal door), there was a shoe behind the door preventing it to open all the way, which I did not know, so ran into the side of the door. The door hit my left side near the temple. Immediately after I was in extreme pain and felt a little disoriented and nauseas. All day I have had a sharp, throbbing pain in my temple that travels down my cheekbone and into my ear. The pain is not constant, but occurs often to be concerning, and at least for a minute. Is the pain due to trauma to the artery running through my temple and do I need to go to the hospital? I have two small kids and try not to overact by running to the doctor with every bump. Thank you for your advice.
Hello, Thank you for the query. You need to consult your doctor for sure as you have disorientation and nausea after the injury. You need to have a ct scan to rule out internal bleeding.Mostly you dont have that but to be in a safe side you need to be ruled out.I advice advil at present and a scan.Thank you.
