Frequent PVCs Noted When EKG Done Prior To A Hysteroscopy. Should I Be Concerned?
Hi, I had an EKG done prior to a hysteroscopy procedure and there were frequent pvcs noted on the interpretation. My family doc signed off on the EKG and the procedure was done on Friday. Prior to going under general anesthesia , the anesthesiologist seemed concerned that after hooking me up to the heart monitor, there were still regular, frequent pvcs happening. Should I be concerned?

If you are otherwise fit, healthy and physically active then these episodes of abnormal beats are probably nothing to worry about. However, without seeing the EKG it is difficult to say more. I would suggest a visit to a cardiologist would be worthwhile so they can review the EKG. Sometimes there is an indication to treat these runs of ectopic beats.
