Frequent UTI And Foul Smelling Urine. On Antibiotics. Cure?
I have continuous urine infections, that anti biotics haven't seemed to clear. I have had a full sexual screening which was clear. I haven't had intercourse since the screening. There seems to be quite a frequent, pungent smell that is rather embarrassing. I have no idea what to do...I'm hesitant to accept the same course of meds as it seems pointless.
Having repeated urinary infections imply that there is a problem which has to be address the sooner the better. Repeated urinary tract infections may be indicative of a urinary tract malformation or poor hygiene both of which have to be investigated upon. Malformations
are investigated upon by doing an ultrasound or CT scan.
Urinary tract infections are treated with appropriate antibiotics which your doctor should prescribe after an antibiogram has been done.
Antibiogram is a sensitivity test to see what antibiotics would be sensitive to the germ causing the infection without which antibiotics that are not sensitive would rather create resistance.
You should discuss with your treating doctor on doing an antibiogram and a urinary tract ultrasound for better treatment.
Hope this helps you.
