Frequent Headaches. Taking Imitrex. Thought The Reason As Gluten Intolerance Or Blood Sugar Issue. Advice?

Hi, I frequently (about 2 to 3 times a week) wake up at 3:00 am with a headache that only imitrex will take care of. At one time I thought it was due gluten intolerance, then it was mentioned that it might be a blood sugar issue.
Any thoughts on this? I have suffered with headaches my entire life. I am now 60.
Thank you in advance for your advice.

Hi, the causes of headache might be hypertension, anxiety, tension, or ischemic lesions of the brain. Pain disturbing the sleep means hypertension, or ischemia.
I advise you to consult a neurologist for diagnosis and treatment. You may need to have MRI. for confirmation. Thank you.
