About a week ago I did something very very stupid. I gave a guy oral first time without condom second time with condom. He told me that he had Syphilis but then tells me that he was joking and sends me 5 emails saying he is sorry about the joke. Now a week later i have swollen tonsils like the one on the left. my question is can i have an STI? This was my first time ever being with a man WWW.WWWW.WW

Hi,

In all possibility you may be having a STI after giving oral. It need not be syphilis and could be any other disease as well.

You can get yourself examined by your doctor and discussing your situation in detail. There are many bacteria and virus associated with genitalia and sometimes even the person is not aware that they have an infection.

Also it could just be a viral flu or a throat infection with no sexually transmitted infection. Please be careful next time when having penetrative or oral sex.

Hope this helps.
