Good Evening,
I am a college student that is currently going through midterms and have a lot of problems with stress, anxiety, depression etc. from school and also family life. Generally I am a great student when it comes to studying and preparing for tests.. however, with all the stress and anxiety I have right now I cannot sit and study at all. I booked a doctors appointment, but it is after all of my midterms.. so I decided to try adderall (15mg XR at first but didn't see results, so switched to 30mg XR). Now, 2 years ago I was diagnosed with a having a bicuspid aortic valve as well as a mitral valve regurgitation. I am not prescribed any heart medication or any other medication for that matter. Also, I haven't experienced any palpitations, irregular heart beats, light-headedness or any other uncomfortable symptoms (either than a slight increase in heart-rate from the drug, but not anymore serious than a cup of coffee). I don't condone to drug use, especially without proper medical attention with stimulants. Is there anything else that is safer I can be taking in the mean time that will help me concentrate on my studies and stress less? I find that after taking adderall I am able to relax and concentrate up to 4 days and I don't actually feel like doing it anymore than that. Although it isn't wise, is it alright if I continue using it 1-2 times a week until my midterms are done (next week)? Also I am a 19 year old Caucasian male, 6'0 190lbs and relatively fit if that helps. Thank you very much for your time, I really appreciate your help.
