Good Day, For The Past Few Years I've Been Hearing

Good day, for the past few years i've been hearing a bit of grinding sound in back of my neck, each time i turn left or right, i mentioned to my GP who advised comes with getting older and suggested i take a few tylenol or aleeve..took for about a week; which helped with the pain but quickly returned once i stopped taking them...
I've also had a couple of back injuries, had some accupuntures, physio whiched help, but pain quickly returned...
Not to mentioned i work at a desk 5 days a week for several hours at a times, i can be stationed at my desk for more than 2 hours through out the day. I do find when i stretch more often in the mornings it elleviate the sorness..
Also not too long ago noticed my lower is very dark in the saddle area of my back..
What are your thoughts...
