Got Abortion Under Supervision Of Gynae, Card Test Showing Positive Result, Got Period, Prescribed Sysron -N. Reason? Purpose Of Medicine?

hi , Im feeding mother of 1 yr baby. under supervision of gynae got abortion on oct 18, in the scan there is no conception products found, but still pregnancy card test is positive.now nov 18 i didnt get my period, still card test positive.Gynae prescibed me sysron -N . nov 26 got period but bleeding is not much ..... explain me why its positive and the purpose of sysron N please

Hello,
The pregnancy hormone takes at least 3-4 weeks after an abortion or a delivery to disappear and as such, it is possible to get positive tests for pregnancy for some time. Sysron is a progestogen and is being used here to induce a period. You can get your hormonal profile if you wish to know the reason for the delayed cycle in spite of a successful abortion. Sometimes, the ovaries need kick-back in the form of external hormonal support to revert back to normal cyclical pattern and the medication helps to achieve that. Hope your query has been answered.
