Got Depo Shot After Delivery, Bleeding Like A Regular Period. How To Stop It?
Hey I had my son June 24 and before I left the hospital which was the 26 I got the three month depo shot not aware of all the horrible side effects. I ve been spotting off and on since but since September 1 I been bleeding like a regular period. Not heavy but enough. What can I take to stop bleeding and to get my hormones in tack?
Hi, Thanks for the query. After delivery some amount of spotting can be seen for around 4 to 6 weeks. And depo can lead to irregular spotting etc side effects. But these will subside soon usually. As you are continuously having the problem, better to consult gynecologist once and get examined to rule out any possibility of retained products. Then with her advice you can go for additional dose of hormones and anti - fibrinolytic drugs to control the bleeding. Then possibly your cycles can become regularized. If not better to choose some other method of contraception with your doctor's advice. Take care.
