HPV Positive, Cervical Dysplasia, Vulvar Dysplasia. Done Pap Smear. Do I Need My Uterus?
Hello. I am forty three and I have mild cin-1. I have had it for three years despite having had cone and leep and cryo. I was hpv positive high risk strain but that has been clear for one year. I had one norma pap in January, first one past the cone and leep a year ago, now the cin 1 back but hpv still negative. I know that cervical dysplasia is slow to progress, generally ten years but at what point do I throw in the towel and ask for a hyst? I know this is not a cure all as I have had vulvar dysplasia also. I do not need my uterus, i have children but i worry about how that will affect my overall function. But I am drained from this roller coaster and it seems my dysplasia is fairly persistant even with treatment that showed clear margins. THhnk you.

Hi, Thank you for posting your question here, I will try to answer it to the best of my abilities.
Well you can go over a voluntary hysterectomy and nobody can stop you from that. As long as you dont want any more children, there is nothing wrong with having it done. Of-course the doctors will have to run some tests on you to make sure that you can have the surgery without any danger to your life. Thats about it, talk to your doctor about it the next time you see him.
I hope this helped.
