Had CBC And Monospot Done Which Showed Atypical Lymph Count. Should I Be Concerned About Leukemia?
Hi , I m concerned because my son had a cbc and mono spot done yesterday. The only thing that is back is an atypical lymph count and it is 16. She also stated that it was very high and could be an infection and perhaps mono. Having a nursing back round and going with the normal ranges she gave me from 0-8 and his being 16 I m concerned about Leukemia. Is this a typical number for mono? Or is my but churning for a reason?
Hi, It is important to get the test done again and a clinical evaluation by a hematologist. early diagnosis and an appropriate treatment would improve outcome. It is however not unusual to mistake normal cells to present as such. Clinical signs and symptoms are necessary to compliment these laboratory findings. the opinion of a hematologist could be most helpful. Kind regards.
