hello, last month i took diane and had a withdrawal bleeding after 4 days. i shifted to althea pills after 9 days of menstration. my boyfriend and i had sex and we used condom in the first week of taking althea. i finished my 21 pills and now im on the 5th day of pill free and yet my menstration did not come. will i become pregnant or not? i used urine pregnancy test and it says negative. what will i do or any advice. thanks a lot.

Hi,
Though you have used protection, since your time of initiating the pills is a bit late during the cycle, you cannot be considered safe during this cycle. As such, you should exclude/confirm pregnancy. Since a urine test may not give you a definite result, you should opt for the serum beta-hCG titre estimation as this is sensitive as well as specific and gives you an earlier conclusion. You should see a specialist for further evaluation and management. Hope you find this information useful. Take care.
