Had An Abortion, No Menstrual Cycle After That. Will I Get Periods? When Would Be My Ovulation Date?

i had a baby may 27 of this year then found out i was pregnant again in September i had an abortion september 20 and since then have not gotten my menstrual cycle. i havent had one since September of 2012 when i found out i was pregnant with my daughter. its very confusing! im just trying to find out if A- i will ever get my period B- when my ovulation dates would be and C-could i posibly be pregnant again.

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

You can expect to get a normal period about 4 to 8 weeks after the abortion. We cannot predict exactly when you will get your period because pregnancy and abortion affect your menstrual cycle. The pregnancy hormone, HCG, may remain in your blood and urine for up to 8 weeks after your termination. Therefore, it is recommended that you NOT perform any type of pregnancy test. False positive results may be obtained and can cause you undue anxiety.

Please use barrier methods like condoms during sex.
