Had Chest Pain, Put On Lopressor, Right Hand Feels Tingly And Numb. History Of Anxiety And Depression. Why ?
i have a long history of anxiety and depression...i was sent to hospital in observation unit for 2 days following chest pain and all tests were fine...dr put me on lopressor and this morning while drinking my coffee, my right hand felt a little tingly and numb(but not bad) i dropped my cigarrette 4 times today, the feeling comes and goes....if this something to be concerned about, i have neber experienced this before
Your symptoms are likely to be symptoms of anxiety but physical causes like hyper/hypotension and transient ischemic attack should be ruled out. You should consult your doctor for the same.
Doctor may advise you to go for blood tests like electrolyte and vitamin assay and radiological investigations including CAT scan if needed.
Treatment would be directed as per cause. For anxiety-depression, you should consult psychiatrist for detailed evaluation and management. Psychiatrist may offer anti depressant agents like sertraline or escitalopram or may advise to go for counselling.
Meanwhile, you may do stress management and relaxation exercise for better control over stress.
Thanks.
