Had Depo Shot, Bleeding After Sometime. Is This Normal? How Can I Stop This?

i am 22. i have had the depo shot about 5 mths ago. 3 mths after the shot i started to bleed. now 2 mths and 2 weeks im still bleeding. can i no what i can do to stop the bleeding. i heard abt pp taking birth control pills to stop. but which ones can i take?

Hello,
Please remember that the depo shot needs to be taken every 90 days. If you have not taken the due dose, you will have withdrawal bleed and I think that is your problem now. If you have stopped the injection voluntarily, you need to see a specialist, undergo proper evaluation and get the prescribed medication, usually progesterones, for arrest of the bleeding. This may be followed by a few courses of oral pills if needed. Please improve your nutritional status and add some iron supplements too. Hope this helps.
