Had Frequent Vertigo. MRI Said Multiple Abnormal Signal Foci Noted At Periventricular And Subcortical White Matter. Explain
Hello I got my mother brain MRI result. MRI is done because my mother had frequent vertigo . now the MRI reports show that all is normal but multiple abnormal signal foci noted at periventricular and subcortical white matter which infavour of small vessels ischemic change.what is ith meaning of this message? Thanks alot.
The MRI report says that she has ischaemic foci ( blood supply insufficiency) around the deep spaces in the brain ( The ventricles) and deep white matter.
This is a common finding with advancing age and not worrisome.
Please consult your doctor about the cause of vertigo which is not explained by this MRI finding which we take as normal for the aged.
I hope this explains your doubt.
All the best of health.
