Had Laser Work In Eye. Had A Film Over The Eye. On Ketorolac. Now In New Prescription. Is It Safe To Use The New One?

I had laser work on my right eye which evidentally had a film over the eye as a result of a cataract operation about two years ago. I was prescribed Acular (Ratio Ketorolac) eye drops at the time. I still have half a bottle of this eye drop which has an expiry date 2012. The doctor gave me a new prescription today but as I have half a bottle at home, can this be used. If the eye drop is only to be used for 5 days, why do they sell a size that holds more of the drops. This is not cheap and I am a Senior with limited income. Please let me know if I can use the one I already have. Thank you. Lorna Monteith
